1980

The year that I graduated from high school was a time of "ordinary". Make-up, clothing, hair styles...it was all simple, functional, to the point. For this "flashback Friday", inspired by Clew, I came across a couple of pictures from that year. My friend Terri and I spent a great deal of time together back in "the day". During a rare, grumpy moment in choir, she was trying to coax me out of my mood. But the norm was laughter and fun and being plainly, simply who we were...

It is always amazing how simple times are looking back, how complicated times are in the present and how impossible things seem to be for the future. And yet, in ten years, today will have become the "simple" times.

look like a young Linda Ronstadt in that first pic. :-)

Ah those were the good old days...when being plainly simply who you were...was enough.

What fun! I love the idea of flashback Friday. I second the Ronstadt comment. And I never could get my hair to do the feathering thing!

The kind of girl I could admire but would never dare have spoken to...way too gorgeous for me!

Had to come back over because I was reading your comment on her place, and it's so true. In my town we didn't wear makeup either, just flannel shirts and jeans. I think the girls a few years younger were doing more makeup, though.

Another great post, Lori! Things were pretty much the same when and where I grew up too.

Ah, youth is wasted on the young, eh my friend? :)

Love these pics. My brother graduated in 1980 and the hub in 1981, so while I trail a few years behind I feel connected to this era as well.

Thanks for sharing these! I see it's not a new thing for you, you've always been adorable. :D
