The blank page before me seems somewhat intimidating now; a place where I once felt so at home. Though the hiatus was not really one of my choice, I've accepted that it is what it is...and that eventually thoughts will flow again and I will be back on the front porch of my life, soaking in the sunshine and absorbing the view over the horizon.
But for today, here are the snippets of my mind as the New Year gets under way:
*This was one of the best Christmas' we've had in years...
*My brother being home from Seattle was one of the reasons why.
*Though it is January and I know a winter storm lies ahead, there is something spring-like in the air today...
*My son grew 7" this last year....I'm hoping there'll be no repetition of that!
*I become a hermit when we're out of school for too long, and I love that respite with my family.
*I don't make resolutions, but I resolve to make some changes.
*A break-up is tough on a teenage girl's heart. It's hard when your children get to the age where a batch of chocolate chip cookies and a kiss don't fix their hurts.
*I love the quietness in this room, when I am all alone.
*We are still surrounded by Christmas at our house...and I'm not in a hurry to take it all down. It truly was a lovely time...
*I pray for the family in the southern part of our state whose daughter is missing...and despite the outlook, hope she is all right.
*The loud cheering of a basketball game is down the hall and 15 minutes away...
*I'm so glad I don't have to work tonight and that I can just be "Mom".
*I am thankful for all the wonderful people in my life.
*I'm confused by those who love having drama in their lives. I abhor it when anything disturbs the gentle flow of mine.
*I wonder if anyone ever comes here anymore, and wish I had opportunities to connect like I used to.
*I will get there.
*I ate too many sweets over the holidays.
*But it sure was great!
*Time goes so quickly when I'm doing something I enjoy.
*I ponder this: "Live your life so that those who know you, but don't know God, come to know God, because they know you."
Until next time...and may that be soon...
