I think that the sky is God's most amazing masterpiece. I love its many facets and colors, its ever changing, breath-taking wonderment and the peace I feel at its natural beauty.
No wonder He put it above, so we would have to look up. Fitting, indeed.

I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.
I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

The sky seems to be liquid. This is gorgeous.
It is breathtaking..........I would have to get in my car and drive some distance to get away from the trees to get a good open shot of the sky!
Hugs and Happy 4th of July to you and your family.........ENJOY!
Wow, these are beautiful!
While it's easy to think that the sky is God's most magnificent creation, I think if you were to ask Him, He'd say that it's you and I--his kids--that are the most magnificent. All the same adjectives would apply. Not only that, but we can relate with Him. Now THAT is magnificent! :)
John,
When I was writing this, I pondered the right word to use because I definitely agree with you. I consider a masterpiece to be a great artistic work. And it's hard to beat all the intricacies of the sky when it comes to the artist's palette. The canvas is clear each day, and oh the glory that is painted upon it!
But when it comes to creation....man..woman..child...that is the greatest of all. Anyone that has experienced a new baby coming into this world can attest: a true miracle.
Beautiful skies with such dramatic, yet peaceful colors!
Oh, those are such beautiful shots! The color is amazing. Great post.

I have to add the this is a charming post.. both words and pictures will be enjoyed by many.
It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!
Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.
And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions
These are like pastel paintings. Very pretty subtel skies on both.
Perfect entry for skywatch… all I can say is that “you’ll be the sun in somebody else’s sky”…LoL! Mine’s up too hope you can drop by…
beautiful photos!!
have a nice weekend!!
The color in those two shots is simply amazing -- such a subtle but strong combination...
And by the way, that cat sittig on the pole on the left of the page is a really great shot... I've got one of those cats that has to hang right here on my lap at all times to make typing as difficult as possible...
Hope you and that great family of yours have a good Fourth. And I bet you will...
Splendid indeed!
