"I truly believe if my time is up here,
Then I will be called.
Till then I am safe.
So...I fly."
Then I will be called.
Till then I am safe.
So...I fly."
I am not a risk taker, preferring to tiptoe around the dangerous edges as I rest comfortably within my safety net. I like to think it's because I value my life and want to steer clear of anything that may cause me harm.
But then I wonder...
I was talking with a friend who spoke of living life to the fullest and gleaning all you can from the day, knowing that you are held safely until your time on this earth is through.
I don't want to leave here with my dreams still neatly wrapped, contained within their packaging because I was too afraid to trust, believe, soar. So...where do you draw the line between living...and living dangerously? When do you throw caution to the wind, rely on faith....and fly?

It'll happen when you least expect it. The next time you "think" about whether you should or should not do something....do it!
It's like playing the piano, the more you practice the better you'll become at it.
Fly Laurel.....Fly!
I like to live within a safe place and sometimes step outside of it. But, I always come back into my comfort zone. But, I didn’t know what I could do until I tried.
I really like your new header!
When you're sure of the person who packed your parachute! LOL......there is a fine line there. You have to decide for yourself how far over that line you cross on an individual basis! Hugs my friend!
Your post reminded me of this quote. I have seen it in many variations and I have no idea of who the author is, but it is a good one.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, beer in one hand - cheeseburger in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO - What a Ride!"
Great post!
Nice shot Lori. I came over from Salty's place and I love what I see here. I have long been a fan of Kansas and Nebraska for pictures and you will find some in my older postings.
I like your thoughts, they always say the first step is the hardest to take.

Lori, there's a difference between adventure and stupidity. I've become more adventurous than I used to, because it's fun making memories, and I know I won't be up to doing the same things when I'm older.
I've also done my share of stupid things, like the time I wanted a picture of a 177-ft. waterfall from a different angle. I wanted to photograph it from the very top, looking across it sideways as the water rushed out over the rock wall. The trail to the top was short, and I found a fence that someone else had trampled. A tree sat in the perfect spot, so I braced my right knee against it...hugged it with my right arm, and leaned waaa-ay out...snapped a couple of pictures, then hiked back down the trail. Once I was down at the safer viewing area, I realized how dumb that was. I could have easily slipped and taken a ride over the falls.
I probably won't be parachuting out of planes, but I do want to keep exploring. I'm just working at choosing smarter adventures.
Here's a photo of the waterfall from down below.
